200th Anniversary of First Settlement in Kentucky.
Covered wagons approaching the fort. Harrodstown, as it was called then, was founded June 16, 1774 by a group out of Pennsylvania in Spring 1774, the first English settlement west of the Allegheny (Appalachian) Mountains. Later that same year, Daniel Boone was sent to warn the settlement of pending Indian attack.
