WORLD COLUMBIAN STAMP EXPOSITION
Featuring a portion of the 15¢ pictorial design of 1869 - Landing by Columbus.

This stamp was issued to promote the stamp event of the year - the 1992 World Columbian Stamp Expo. The original design for the 1869 stamp was taken from John Vanderlyn's painting "The Landing of Columbus," which hangs in the rotunda of the Capitol.
